About the BREW Mile

The BREW Mile is a beer mile held in a brewery parking lot, with the course running along sidewalks and coned-off sections around the property. Solo runners drink their way through the race alone; others can split the distance and the drinking with teammates. The course stays free of vehicle traffic, and the finish line sits right next to where the drinking happens.

The whole afternoon is built around a block party at the brewery, with music, food, and waves of runners going off throughout the evening. One team member picks up bibs for the whole group, and everyone needs a valid ID to get an ID bracelet before they go anywhere near the start. After the racing wraps up, awards go to the fastest teams before the party closes out.

Common Questions About the The BREW Mile

Will I finish last at the BREW Mile?

Almost certainly not. Half the 1 Miles field finished slower than 13:04, and the last recorded finisher came in around 21:31, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the BREW Mile a good first 1 Miles?

It is a small race (34 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 1 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the BREW Mile?

The 1 Miles winner ran 8:34 while the median finisher took 13:04. That spread points to a mixed field, with a competitive front and a big recreational middle.
