About the Blackhorse Marathon in Honor of MG(R) Sunell
The race is held at Fort Irwin and honors a retired major general, giving the whole morning a military character. One of the distance options is a rucking format with its own certificate of completion, which sets this event apart from a standard road race. Several other distances round out the day, including a short kids' run.
Post-race, there is a BBQ on site. Registration runs through two separate forms, one for the rucking certificate and one for general event enrollment through the Blackhorse Association, so it is worth reading the signup instructions carefully before race day.
