About the Beaver Run
The course runs entirely on Breckenridge's paved recreation path system at serious altitude, so the air is thin and the legs know it. The organizers are upfront that this is not a PR course: the return leg trends uphill, and mountain views are part of the trade-off. Several distance options make it workable for different fitness levels visiting for the holiday weekend.
The post-race gathering is at Beaver Run Resort, where a barbecue follows the finish. Awards, drawings, and sponsor giveaways stretch the morning out, so there is reason to stick around. A children's fun run takes place near the finish area shortly after the main events get underway.
