About the Baystate Dirty Dog Trail Run-Ruck-Walk 5k
The course runs through natural terrain across from a Point Street address in Berkley, and the organizers are upfront that it will likely be muddy and slippery depending on the season. The trail is rugged enough that strollers are turned away at the start. Runners, ruckers with weighted packs, and walkers all share the same route, and leashed dogs are welcome on the course with a separate waiver.
There is a ceremony before the start, and food, awards, and raffles follow in the hours after finishing. The event raises money for a local beagle club and an organization that supports people in military and first responder roles, with canine handlers receiving special recognition on the day.
