About the Aden Perry Hero Event 5k
The course runs through Markham Park, a chip-timed route on park terrain. The race honors Aden Perry, a Carnegie Hero Award recipient, and carries that weight into the morning in a tangible way: runners are encouraged to bring school supplies for donation, with a raffle ticket offered in return. Four-legged runners are welcome alongside their people.
The post-race scene is substantial. There is food, snow cones, a candy bar, a live DJ, a live band, a volleyball game, a silent auction, a CPR demonstration by a local medical group, and performances by high school students. A Girl Scout color guard and a live national anthem open the morning.
