About the 36th edition of THE Great Pumpkin Classic
The course starts with a noticeable climb early on, then settles into a route that echoes what runners ran here more than three decades ago. The kids fun run uses the track, which sits flat and separate from the main course. This is a fall race in every sense, pumpkins and autumn air included.
Cider donuts from a local farm and pumpkin mini bagels from a local bagel shop are part of the post-race spread. The race benefits a high school scholarship foundation, and that purpose has been at the center of it since the beginning.
