About the Thanksgiving Turtle Trot 5k
The course starts at Forest Park and follows a paved bike path around Buck Griffin Lake. You run through tall pines, cross a small bridge, and turn back the way you came. The surface is smooth the whole way, and the tree cover keeps things shaded. A portion of registration fees goes toward a local sea turtle rescue organization.
Packet pickup runs on race morning before the start, so there is no need to make a separate trip the day before. The start area is at Forest Park, which should be easy to find for anyone familiar with the area.
