About the Thanksgiving "Run to Remember" 5k Run/Walk

This is a Thanksgiving morning race in Logan, held in memory of a local young woman, with proceeds going to a scholarship fund in her name. The course is a standard road distance, and strollers are welcome. A short children's fun race runs just before the main event, so families tend to show up together.

Check-in the evening before is held at Maya Burrito on Main Street, and race-morning registration opens there as well. It is a convenient downtown anchor point, and the timing means you can get sorted the night before without an early scramble on the holiday.

Common Questions About the Thanksgiving "Run to Remember" 5k Run/Walk

Will I finish last at the Thanksgiving "Run to Remember" 5k Run/Walk?

Almost certainly not. Half the 5K field finished slower than 35:56, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:04:51, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Thanksgiving "Run to Remember" 5k Run/Walk a good first 5K?

A field of 405 is big enough that you will have company at your pace without feeling lost in a crowd. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 5K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Thanksgiving "Run to Remember" 5k Run/Walk?

The 5K winner ran 17:13 while the median finisher took 35:56. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.
