About the Thanksgiving Day Trot n' Gobble
The course runs on the Nickel Plate Trail, a rail trail that keeps things smooth and straightforward underfoot. It is the kind of surface that suits any pace, and the out-and-back nature of a trail race means you get a sense of the route before you turn around. Proceeds go to the Peru Circus City Festival, so the race has a local cause behind it.
Registration opens Thanksgiving morning at an Anytime Fitness on Main Street, and there is also an evening packet pickup the night before at the Peru Circus Building. The timing uses chip bibs, so results are tracked accurately without any extra equipment to return.
