About the Thankful Paws Turkey Trot
The course runs through Rohr Park, looping around alongside a golf course. The terrain is described as fast and scenic, with a paved feel suited to a range of paces. Runners doing the longer distance will come back through while others are still out, which is worth knowing if you plan to run with your dog. The park setting keeps it pleasant.
Dogs are welcome on leash and there is a dedicated mile just for them, with the rule that the dog must cross the finish ahead of its owner to get an official result. Bring your own bags and water for your pet. The race benefits a local animal rescue organization, and the Thanksgiving morning timing means the crowd skews toward families celebrating the holiday together.
