About the Tesoro Viejo Spring Classic Half Marathon
The course winds through a master-planned community north of Madera, following groomed trails and tree-lined lanes past meadows, bridges, and wetland preserves that are in full bloom by spring. The terrain is generally gentle, and strollers are welcome on the shorter distances. A live rock and roll band plays at the finish, and there are cinnamon rolls, fresh fruit, and beer for those of legal drinking age.
Packet pickup runs the afternoon before at Fleet Feet in Fresno, with race-morning pickup available before the start. Parking is in a lot behind a building called the Hub, reached by turning off the highway onto Tesoro Viejo Boulevard at the stoplight. Arrive early, as the directions make clear that timing is tight.
