About the Tecumseh Trail Challenge Training Runs
These are group training runs through Yellowwood State Forest, organized to give runners a feel for the Tecumseh Trail Challenge courses before race day. The terrain is legitimately challenging, trail-running territory rather than groomed paths, and cell service is poor out there, so knowing the route in advance matters.
Both runs start at the Jackson Creek Trail Head inside Yellowwood State Forest. Checking in and out is mandatory for safety, not just a formality. An unmanned water stop is set up partway through each route, and downloading the GPX file before you arrive is strongly encouraged since course markings are light.
