The course runs through Cacapon State Park on the high school's cross-country trail, starting near the park lodge with a gentle climb before threading into the woods. The route passes an upper lake and loops back to the start. Dogs on leashes are welcome, and a swim in the lake is open to them after the race.
Packet pickup and registration happen on-site the morning of the race. After finishing, there is a pup swim in the lake for four-legged participants.
