About the Sweet Ride
The route follows the Des Plaines River, splitting between paved trail for the shorter bike distance and crushed gravel for a stretch of the longer one. The run stays on pavement. It is open country out there, away from the city, and the cause behind the event is diabetes research. Bring your own water bottle; jugs are set out at the turnaround points.
Check-in happens in the parking lot on race morning. After the event, the post-race gathering moves to Imperial Oak Brewing.
