About the Superior Hee-Haw Hustle
The Superior Hee-Haw Hustle is a pack burro race, meaning you run alongside a donkey the entire way. Teams of one human and one burro head down historic Main Street and out into the Tonto National Forest, covering rugged terrain on foot and hoof. The longer course requires the burro to carry a pack saddle loaded with mining tools, a nod to the animals that once worked these hills.
Every racer must have a burro secured before signing up, and if you do not own one, rentals may be available for a separate fee. No riding is allowed at any point, and no one outside the team can help move things along. Finishing is a true team effort: the burro must cross the line together with its runner to count as a completed team.
