About the Summer Send-Off 8k
The course runs as an evening race out of the Wings Meeting Place on California Road, so you start and finish at the same venue. The terrain and surroundings are not mapped out in detail here, but it is a late-summer road race timed to feel like a send-off before fall training kicks in.
Packet pickup runs the afternoon before the gun, at the same building where you finish. After the race, a live band plays a set of nineties rock covers on site, and there is food. The post-race hang is built into the plan, not an afterthought.
