About the Summer's Done 13.1
The course runs around Bond Park on a mix of dirt, grass, paved paths, and natural trails. This is not a flat park loop; the terrain has moderate to serious hills, and the surface underfoot changes throughout. Trail shoes or something with grip are worth thinking about, especially if there has been rain in the days before. Several distance options let you pick how far you want to go.
The race takes place in summer heat in the Carolina piedmont, and the organizers are direct about that: their registration page links to heat disorder guidance and historical weather data for race day. Plan your pace accordingly, and carry your own fluids if you are sensitive to the conditions. A virtual option exists for those who want to run the same concept on their own course.

The Summer's Done 13.1 has been held every year since at least 2023. That is as far back as RunSignup's records for this race go, so it may well be older.
How we calculate these stats: RunSesh calculates these figures from the most recent published results of past editions, sourced from RunSignup. We show aggregates only: field size, winning and median times, and the cutoff. We never publish individual finisher tables. Last updated Jul 27, 2026.
