About the Strasburg Splash Dash 5K and Family Fun Run
The course runs through historic downtown Strasburg and beside the river that runs along that stretch of the Shenandoah Valley, with tree cover for much of the way. It starts at the town park and finishes at the town pool, so there is a natural endpoint to the morning. The terrain is gentle throughout, and the route passes under the ridge of Signal Knob.
After the race, there is a cookout and a pool party at the finish. It is a good cap to the morning, especially in summer heat.
