About the Stomp Out Hunger 5k Run and 1Mile Walk
The race starts and finishes at the Hale Kau Kau kitchen on Lipoa Street, a meal program that delivers food to homebound elderly and disabled residents and runs a nightly community dinner. The entry fees go directly to keeping that program running, so the race itself is the fundraiser. Costumes are part of the morning, with prizes for individuals and groups, and a sit-down breakfast follows in the hall.
Parking is free at St. Theresa Church nearby. The start area is the Hale Kau Kau kitchen itself, so the finish brings you right back to where the post-race breakfast is served.
