About the Step Up Half Marathon, Relay & 5k
The half marathon course stays close to the water nearly the whole way, looping around Storm Lake with little climbing to speak of. It is a fast, flat road course, USATF certified, and well suited to runners chasing a personal best. The 5k takes a shorter loop and finishes near a beach and playground.
Both races start and finish at a lakeside resort, so parking is straightforward, you can leave your car at either end. Packet pickup runs the evening before at the same resort, with a race-morning option as well. There are snacks, refreshments, and music at the finish line.
