About the Stennis Space Center Marathon

The course runs the paved perimeter roads of an active federal space center, through wooded stretches where deer and other wildlife cross the road with some regularity. The route is flat throughout, which makes it a popular choice for runners chasing a personal best, and the marathon is Boston-qualified. Security checks at the main gate add time to your morning arrival, so plan accordingly.

Packet pickup runs the evening before the race at a welcome center just off the interstate, well outside the space center gates. Race-morning pickup is available near the start. After you finish, red beans and rice, beer, soft drinks and fruit are served on site.
