The race runs through St. Marys as part of the town's Seafood Festival weekend, so there is real crowd energy along the route. The longer distance uses a modified course that loops the same stretch more than once; runners stay out past the finish arch on the first pass and come back through only at the end.
Registration opens race morning before the start. The event is chip timed, with overall awards going by gun time. Proceeds support foster children through a local family center, which gives the morning a purpose beyond the finish line.
