About the Springfield Schools Elementary Cross Country Series
This is an elementary cross country series hosted by the high school cross country teams, held at Homecoming Park. The course is short and scaled to young runners, with separate heats organized by grade band. Meets run on consecutive evenings through the fall, and registering once puts kids in all of them.
Results are handled by a local running shop, so timing feels organized without being intimidating. The entry is free, and the park setting keeps things casual enough for kindergartners to feel at home. Ribbons go to top finishers, and every child gets one for participating.
