About the Spooky Sprint 5K 2026

The Spooky Sprint runs through Rivers Edge North Park in Roanoke, and costumes are very much part of the deal. Runners show up in full Halloween gear, pets included, all on leash. The race goes ahead rain or shine, so the weather does not change the plan. The park setting gives it room to spread out without feeling crowded.

A costume contest runs before the start, with separate categories for kids, teens, adults, pets, and a few creative wildcards. Prizes for the contest come from a local general store. Registration closes at the start line, so there is no scrambling once the race is underway.
