About the Spofford Lake 10K
The course loops Spofford Lake on smooth local roads, mostly shaded by trees, with the lake itself coming into view for the final stretch back to Wares Grove Beach. The hills are scattered and brief, except for one real climb partway through that levels off before long. Overall the terrain reads flat enough that the hills feel like punctuation rather than the story.
The race starts and finishes at Wares Grove Beach, which gives the finish area a natural gathering spot right at the water. An aid station sits roughly midway through the course, and local police handle traffic where the route crosses busier roads. Proceeds go toward local food shelters and athletic programs.
