About the Spartan Sprint 5K Run/Walk & FAMILY DAY
The course runs point to point on paved roads, starting on a community college campus and winding through a nearby neighborhood before finishing back on campus. It stays mostly flat the whole way, which makes it a reasonable outing for anyone testing a distance for the first time. Strollers and leashed dogs are welcome, and walkers start behind the runners at their own pace.
After the race, the college hosts a family day with food, music, and activities that runs well into the afternoon. There is also a post-race raffle. Awards go to overall winners and to the top finishers across a full range of age brackets.
