The course runs through a residential neighborhood called Country Club, starting and finishing in Kennedy Park. It is flat throughout, which keeps things moving, and the surroundings are quiet streets rather than anything technical underfoot. The race honors first responders who died in the line of duty, and runners often carry or wear something that pays tribute to them or to the military.
