About the Solidarity Sidekick down Route 66 - Stop 9- Bloomington 6.6K
This is one stop in a statewide series running the Illinois stretch of Route 66 in solidarity with someone making the full journey to raise awareness for ALS. The Bloomington course follows a historic Route 66 corridor through the city. At a set point in the route, participants join the solo runner for a shared segment, so the run has a gathering quality to it.
After the run there is a post-run celebration with the broader series community. The course and the cause are connected by design: the distance itself is meant to reflect the long road ALS families travel.
