The course starts at Uncle Vait's on Route 66 and moves through Lexington's historic corridor, passing along Memory Lane and a trail that runs beside the Mother Road. The race is part of a series honoring people living with ALS, and the man at the center of it, Enric, runs alongside participants for a shared segment of each stop.
The start and finish at Uncle Vait's doubles as the post-run gathering spot, where there is a treat waiting after you finish. The feel of the morning is shaped by the cause behind it, and the crowd tends to be people who know why they showed up.
