About the Sole Circle - 2nd Annual Solomons Island 5k
The course runs through Solomons Island, a waterfront town where the Patuxent River meets the Chesapeake Bay. You get water on the water for most of the route, which gives it a different feel from a park or neighborhood race. The terrain is flat along the shoreline, and the surroundings do most of the work.
Check-in happens the morning of the race at the start location on Solomons Island Road, so plan to arrive well before the gun. The race benefits veteran programs and services, and there is a post-race awards ceremony for the top finishers.
