About the Sole Circle - 2nd Annual Harbor Heroes 5k/10k

The course runs along a harbor front, so you get water views for most of the route. It is chip timed and the race proceeds regardless of weather. Both distance options follow trail paths out along the waterfront, and the terrain is the kind you can move on without thinking too hard about footing.

Packet pickup is at the event site itself, and the organizers suggest arriving well before the gun so you have time to check in without rushing. Overflow parking is available across the street in a garage. A post-race awards ceremony covers the top finishers in both distances, and first-place winners in each take home a trophy and a pair of shoes.

Common Questions About the Sole Circle - 2nd Annual Harbor Heroes 5k/10k

Will I finish last at the Sole Circle - 2nd Annual Harbor Heroes 5k/10k?

Almost certainly not. Half the 5K field finished slower than 33:01, and the last recorded finisher came in around 57:35, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Sole Circle - 2nd Annual Harbor Heroes 5k/10k a good first 5K?

It is a small race (111 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 5K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Sole Circle - 2nd Annual Harbor Heroes 5k/10k?

The 5K winner ran 15:59 while the median finisher took 33:01. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.
