About the SMT Turkey Trot
The SMT Turkey Trot runs through the streets of New Cumberland on Thanksgiving morning, starting and finishing at the borough park. The course is a road route through town, and the race carries real meaning: it honors Shirley Mae Taylor, who loved this community, and all proceeds support families struggling with cancer-related bills.
Packet pickup happens at a couple of local running stores in the days before the race, with a final option at the fire hall the evening before. On race morning, pickup opens at the park before the gun goes off. Refreshments and activities are waiting at the finish.

Finish-Time Stats
Going by the 2025 results, this is a big field, and the spread of finish times is wide, so this is a mostly recreational race rather than one for club runners.

How we calculate these stats: RunSesh calculates these figures from the most recent published results of past editions, sourced from RunSignup. We show aggregates only: field size, winning and median times, and the cutoff. We never publish individual finisher tables. Last updated Sep 10, 2026.
