About the Sitrin Riggie Run & Walk
The course runs on the campus of a polytechnic university in Utica, and the event has a distinctive local twist: partway through the race, participants in the challenge division stop to eat a bowl of chicken riggies before continuing. Those who would rather just run can skip the food stop and race the standard course. There is also a wheelchair division and a shorter kids route.
After the race, local restaurants set up inside the campus field house to compete over who makes the best version of the dish, and registered participants can taste and vote at no extra charge. Continental breakfast is served at the start. Packet pickup the day before is at a running store in New Hartford.

The Sitrin Riggie Run & Walk has been held every year since at least 2023. That is as far back as RunSignup's records for this race go, so it may well be older.
How we calculate these stats: RunSesh calculates these figures from the most recent published results of past editions, sourced from RunSignup. We show aggregates only: field size, winning and median times, and the cutoff. We never publish individual finisher tables. Last updated Jul 27, 2026.
