Mableton, GA
The Silver Comet Trail runs on an old rail bed, which means the surface is smooth and the grade is almost nonexistent. The course goes out and back along the trail, through tree cover that keeps things pleasant in the fall. It draws people chasing personal bests as well as those running the distance for the first time, and the trail itself handles both without fuss.
