About the Shinnston Turkey Trot & Gobble Wobble
The course starts on the road and finishes on a rail trail, so the surface changes underfoot partway through. That transition is the most distinctive thing about the route. A kids race goes off just before the main event, and the costume contest and team competition give the morning a Thanksgiving-parade kind of energy.
Packet pickup happens the evening before at a local church on Rebecca Street. Parking is available at a few nearby lots, including a lumber yard and a pharmacy, but Pike Street itself is part of the course and closes before the start, so plan to walk a bit from wherever you leave the car.
