About the Shelli Huether Veterans Day Honor Run
The course is a short paved loop around Granny White Park, repeated as many times as your distance requires. The terrain is gentle with a few rolling hills, nothing steep. You can enter as a runner, a walker, or a rucker carrying a weighted pack, and the eight-hour option lets relay teams trade off throughout the day. Dogs are welcome on the course.
The race starts in the morning with a color guard ceremony and national anthem before anyone moves. A pavilion near the course serves as a gear drop and rest area, with water and Gatorade at the aid station on course. A nurse is on-site throughout. The event benefits two Tennessee nonprofits, and cash prizes go to top finishers across categories.
