About the Shark Week Showdown 5K, 10K - Fort Worth, TX
The race runs through Webb Community Park in Arlington, with an ocean theme that carries through the whole morning, including music at the start and finish. Several distance options make it work for short efforts and longer ones alike, and the chip-timed distances come with age-group awards. The vibe is energetic without being overly serious.
Packet pickup happens the morning of the race, closing shortly before the start. The finish area has post-race celebrations and an awards presentation. A volunteer-then-run option lets you help with packet pickup before joining the start, which is a nice setup if you want to be involved beyond just running.
