The Sham-Rock-N-Run runs along the North Myrtle Beach coast, with all distances starting together before the field spreads out. The road course is flat enough that walkers and faster runners share the early miles before the routes separate. Post-race awards roll out in waves through the morning, so half marathon finishers have time to cool down before the ceremony.
