About the Septemberfest 5k
The race starts beside the Lawrence County Board Office, next to a high school football field, and the main distance winds through a neighboring subdivision called Meadowbrooke. The course runs on open roads, so cars may be present, though signs and some traffic control are in place. There is also a secret longer route whose path the organizers will not reveal.
This race runs alongside the annual Septemberfest celebration in Louisa. Registration opens early on race morning, and proceeds benefit a local theater company. The course is not chip timed, and the race goes on rain or shine, with delays only for lightning.
