About the Scranton Turkey Trot
The course runs through Nay Aug Park, with gentle rolling terrain and no street crossings, which keeps the route clean and uninterrupted. The race benefits the park itself, specifically an all-inclusive play space, so the surroundings you are running through are also what your entry fee supports. Costumes are encouraged, and the atmosphere leans toward Thanksgiving morning tradition over racing.
Packet pickup happens the evening before Thanksgiving at the Scranton Running Company on West Olive Street, with race-morning pickup available at the park as well. The start is in front of the Community Room and the finish is at the Schimelfenig Pavilion parking lot. After the race, Dunkin' Donuts coffee and apple cider are out at the finish.
