About the Scottdale Fall Festival 5k & 10k

The course starts near a downtown gazebo and moves through Scottdale's historical district, where Victorian homes and old churches line the route. The terrain rolls through town before opening into countryside, so there is real elevation change here, not a flat tour of a parking lot.

The after-race party sets up behind a building on Pittsburgh Street with pizza and drinks. Packet pickup runs the evening before at the festival booth on Pittsburgh Street, with race-morning pickup available as well. Parking lots at the public library and a nearby pharmacy are the spots to aim for.

Common Questions About the Scottdale Fall Festival 5k & 10k

Will I finish last at the Scottdale Fall Festival 5k & 10k?

Almost certainly not. Half the 5K field finished slower than 29:45, and the last recorded finisher came in around 59:44, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Scottdale Fall Festival 5k & 10k a good first 5K?

It is a small race (126 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 5K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Scottdale Fall Festival 5k & 10k?

The 5K winner ran 15:37 while the median finisher took 29:45. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.
