About the Scarecrow Shuffle 8k, 5k, 2 Mile Fun Run & 1/4 Mile Kids' Run

The Scarecrow Shuffle takes place inside Peddler's Village, a shopping village with brick paths and gardens that looks genuinely different from a park-road course. The setting is part of the draw: the village runs its own scarecrow competition at the same time, so the course passes elaborate, larger-than-life scarecrow displays. Runners are encouraged to come in costume, and there is a costume contest after the race.

Packet pickup runs the evening before at the race site itself, which makes race morning a little easier. On race day, the village recommends arriving well before the first wave goes off. After finishing, the costume contest and an awards ceremony keep things going, and the scarecrow exhibits are worth a wander before you leave.
