About the SCADaddle 5k Race & Walk for Research
The SCADaddle is a benefit run tied to research on a rare cardiac condition that strikes mostly younger women. The race runs rain or shine, so the field tends to include people who are there for a reason beyond the finish line. Chip timing covers everyone, runners and walkers alike, and age-group awards go deep into the field.
Packet pickup happens the evening before at The Gathering GVL on Augusta Street, which doubles as a meet-and-greet where participants can connect with other SCAD survivors, supporters, and families. Same-morning pickup is also available before the start. There are refreshments after the race, and a health system welcome center opens at the finish area with vendors and additional resources.
