About the Saturday Night Lights - Ottawa Hills Back to School 5K & 1M

The 5K rolls through the streets of the village at night, finishing under the stadium lights at Niedermeier Stadium. The shorter kids run stays entirely inside the stadium, which makes it easy for families to watch from one spot. The evening start gives the whole thing a different feel than a typical weekend morning race.

Packet pickup happens twice on race day, once in the morning and again in the afternoon, both near the high school entrance. The race benefits the Ottawa Hills After Prom program, so the crowd skews local and the stakes feel genuinely personal to the people cheering.
