About the Saturday in the Park Women's 5K

The race runs through Thompson Park, which gives it a wooded, open-space feel well suited to a summer morning. The course is a loop through the park grounds, and the surrounding greenery keeps things shaded in stretches. Awards go to top finishers by age group, and there are also team categories for mother-daughter and sister-sister pairs, which shapes the crowd noticeably.
