About the Santa Stomp 5K Run/Walk

The race runs through the streets of Teutopolis, so you are moving through a small town rather than a park or trail. The course is on pavement, and the surroundings are the kind of neighborhood blocks and town streets you would drive through on any given day. Chip timing is handled by a separate timing company, so results are official.

Pickup happens on race morning. Awards go out after the last finisher crosses, covering overall winners, masters categories, and age groups, so there is reason to stick around if you placed.

Common Questions About the Santa Stomp 5K Run/Walk

Will I finish last at the Santa Stomp 5K Run/Walk?

Almost certainly not. Half the 5K field finished slower than 32:22, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:01:19, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Santa Stomp 5K Run/Walk a good first 5K?

A field of 570 is big enough that you will have company at your pace without feeling lost in a crowd. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 5K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Santa Stomp 5K Run/Walk?

The 5K winner ran 15:54 while the median finisher took 32:22. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.
