About the Santa 5k Fun Run/Walk
The course follows Muscatine's bike path, so the surface is smooth and the surroundings are scenic rather than urban. Nearly everyone running shows up dressed as Santa, which gives the whole morning a particular look. Proceeds benefit a local charitable gift program for children, so the costume requirement and the cause are genuinely connected.
The race starts outside the local Salvation Army building. Afterward there is a light breakfast, music, and milk and cookies at the finish area, along with a raffle and photo opportunities.
