About the San Lorenzo River Trail Run
The courses here run through coastal redwood groves, stream canyons, open meadows, and dry chaparral ridges above Santa Cruz. Almost all of it is single track and dirt road, with no pavement to speak of. Every distance option crosses the San Lorenzo River more than once, and the climbing is real across the board, with elevation gain that builds significantly as you step up to longer distances.
Packet pickup and check-in happen race morning at Harvey West Park, at the Friendship picnic area. Parking there is free. Runners doing one of the longer distances can bring a drop bag with non-valuables to leave at the start and finish area.

The San Lorenzo River Trail Run has been held every year since at least 2022. That is as far back as RunSignup's records for this race go, so it may well be older.
How we calculate these stats: RunSesh calculates these figures from the most recent published results of past editions, sourced from RunSignup. We show aggregates only: field size, winning and median times, and the cutoff. We never publish individual finisher tables. Last updated Sep 10, 2026.
