About the Salute to Veterans 5K/10K/Half Marathon - Denver
The course runs out and back along the Aurora Reservoir, so you get the same scenery twice and can gauge your effort against runners heading the other direction. The terrain is close to flat with just enough variation to keep it honest. Self-serve water stations are spaced out along the route, so if you are pushing for a fast time, personal hydration is worth considering.
Registration and bib pickup open on race morning before the gun goes off. The race honors veterans with free entry and active duty military at a reduced rate, with a military ID required at check-in. Awards go deep across overall, masters, and age group categories for each distance.
