About the Salty's 5K & 10K Double Nubble

The course follows the shoreline near Nubble Lighthouse, which sits just off the rocky coast. Both distances share the same loop, with the longer option going around twice. The road stays close to the water for most of the route, so the views are there whether you are pushing hard or just getting through it.

Packet pickup is the day before the race at the York Beach fire station, with race-morning pickup also available. The primary parking area is Ellis Park at Short Sands, a short walk to the start. Demand for spots runs high, so arriving early helps.

Common Questions About the Salty's 5K & 10K Double Nubble

Will I finish last at the Salty's 5K & 10K Double Nubble?

Almost certainly not. Half the 5K field finished slower than 35:19, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:13:46, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Salty's 5K & 10K Double Nubble a good first 5K?

A field of 258 is big enough that you will have company at your pace without feeling lost in a crowd. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 5K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Salty's 5K & 10K Double Nubble?

The 5K winner ran 19:01 while the median finisher took 35:19. That spread points to a mixed field, with a competitive front and a big recreational middle.
